Special Needs & Religious Exemption Waiver

Special Needs & Religious Exemption Waiver

We take a request for a waiver seriously and tailor each to the lifter's specific needs, whether it is a physical handicap, missing limb, religious attire request, or otherwise.

Please complete the waiver form in detail. Your application will be reviewed and you will then be contacted by the USPA Technical Chair with the results of your application. Please allow up to 10 business days for your application to be reviewed and finalized. If your application requires additional information, you will be contacted via email.

Please review the USPA Rulebook, Part 9.1 Special Needs, Disabled, Missing Limb, Handicap, Adaptive, Mentally Challenged, Medical or Religious Restrictions for more information.

***Requests must be submitted no later than seven (7) days before competition. Requests submitted later than that may not be processed in time. Requests will not be recognized if they involve violation of the rules and regulations of the Tested division, ie. requesting an exemption for prescription drugs on our Banned Substance List. Athletes using any substance on our Banned Substance List will need to compete in our non-tested division. The USPA does not provide Therapeutic Use Exemptions.

Questions can be sent to our Technical Chair Gordon Santee at [email protected].
