Competition Bid Application

Approved USPA/IPL meet directors are invited to submit this Bid Application, to be considered among other bidders, for the right to conduct a USPA/IPL sanctioned powerlifting competition. All submitted bids will be reviewed by the Executive Committee and, once a decision has been made, the winning bid will be announced.

The following venue and meet guidelines should be followed for bids for both tested and untested USPA National Championships, IPL North American Championships, and IPL World Championships:

Nationals

- To be held in late May to Mid July.

- Contest to run a minimum of 4 days, at least 2 platforms with maximum of 60 lifters per platform (480 lifters minimum).

- Must be at a hotel ballroom, convention center, or other upscale venue (not a gym).

- Prefer hotel accommodations on meet premises or within close and convenient proximity for guests.

- 3 warm-up platforms for each competition platform.

-10,000 square feet minimum for competition, warm-up, spectators & vendors.

- Weigh-in and check-in area separate from the main room where competition is held.

North American Championships

- To be held in Mid-October to Mid-November

- Contest to run a minimum of 3 days, 1-2 platforms with maximum of 60 lifters per platform (360 lifters minimum).

- Must be at a hotel ballroom, convention center, or other upscale venue (not a gym).

- Prefer hotel accommodations on meet premises or within close and convenient proximity for guests.

- 3 warm-up platforms for each competition platform

- 7,000 square feet minimum for competition, warm-up, spectators & vendors if running 1 platform.

- 10,000 square feet minimum for competition, warm-up, spectators & vendors if running 2 platforms.

- Weigh-in and check-in area separate from the main room where competition is held.

IPL World Championships

- To be held in Late-October to Late-November

- Contest to run a minimum of 4 days, at least 2 platforms with maximum of 60 lifters per platform (480 lifters minimum).

- Must be at a hotel ballroom, convention center, or other upscale venue (not a gym).

- Prefer hotel accommodations on meet premises or within close and convenient proximity for guests.

- 3 warm-up platforms for each competition platform.
